Adaptive Re-Use

2014

The conversion of this stunning Victorian Church in Stockwell, Central London provided an excellent canvas to work from. Although within a conservation area the rules for design were immediately set with the building structure presenting direct responses amongst the retention of each individual skeletal piece.

The ridge construction height further allowed the insertion of a mezzanine level, taking advantage of panoramic views around London by opening up portions of the roof. This in turn pulled in light from above highlighting the spaces below and forming the basis of a courtyard.
